“My name is Michael and I am a graduate Sports Therapist, Sports Massage Therapist and registered Paramedic with many years of experience working in healthcare where I have always held a passion for the human body and how it works.”

Michael Howe BSc (Hons), FdSc, MSST, HCPC

Owner & Sports Therapist

I have always been a keen follower and participant in many sports, completing several half marathons, a marathon, endurance cycling events as well as participating in racket sports, football and cricket at a local level.

Whilst training for my marathon I experienced an injury that almost curtailed my involvement and led to me not training for 6 weeks prior to the event. The frustration of being injured and not being able to achieve my goal after months of training, led me to start exploring the role of a Sports Therapist in more detail. This led me to start studying for a Diploma in Sports Therapy and then later for a BSc (Hons) Degree, where I gained a First-Class classification. As well as these qualifications I also have a level 4 Certificate in Sports Massage Therapy, and a certificate in Gym Instructing.

I appreciate the potential difficulties associated with injury and rehabilitation and hope to make that process easier for my clients passing on my knowledge and using my own experiences to help them return to their sport or daily activity as quickly as possible. The process is a shared one, where I encourage each client to work with me to gain the best possible results through a range of treatment approaches including exercise therapy for pre/post-surgery or injury, injury prevention and massage therapy.

I have worked in non-league football and have had experience working with a national rugby team during the Six Nations tournament, as well as helping people of all ages, abilities, and those with non-sporting injuries return to play or their daily activities after injury and post-surgery.

I look forward to helping new clients with any issues they have, helping them to help themselves towards a more active and healthier lifestyle.

“I visited Mike after a cycling injury and he was wonderful! We had an initial consultation where he went through a thorough examination and explained in plain English what he’ll be doing. After a few visits I felt physically and mentally better and after the full course of sessions I was back on the bike! Thank you so much Mike.”
